TIDAL

Oh, don’t  it tho?
Don’t things seem so                                  overwhelming
                                                                                                               sometimes

all the  times

Oh, woah, woah, whoa, don’t I know

Outnumbered cucumbered ombre’d

Until there’s no color left of the one we used to have

That flag, waving so, so bravely

How you lie, how you lie

Justice, must this upend this, bend, it’s

too easily manipulated by the ones fucking with the blindfold

That money, waving so, so shamelessly

Oh, we are drowning under that sea

Of circumstance, we had the chance, best lance this boil

or it’ll be our last

dance

They’d focus on good but good has a rival

The hate and the shape and the innate spiral

of fear and loathing

of beer and of bloating

of terror encroaching

Better watch out, people,

things about to go tidal

Oh, no, no, no, I know how you play

The martyr with a charter to make me beg and barter

For just that one crust of bread priced by the upper

Time we made a new game

Time we took it outta the frame

You say you know me but how can you when you don’t know my name?

I’m just a number to you

dumb and dumber to you

numb and nummer to you

Look at my lips sayin’ fuck you too

So tell me are you land or are you tide?

One is obviously the loser with nothing to hide

Only one of us comin’ out on top, baby

Next time you want a helping hand

I’ll say maybe

Vingtage radio broadcasting the name of a radio spot, "Karyn With A Y"

She’s a little dated now, but in the late 90s, “Karyn” caused quite the stir when it aired.

When I was in advertising, I won—and I’m just bein’ honest here— a shit ton of awards. Out of all of them, this radio commercial sits at the top of my work. Like I said, it’s a radio spot, but so you have something to look at while you listen, I added text.

Just click on the radio.

If you want to know why I have that stolen-cookie-jar look on my face, you can read a short essay about it.

Graphic with a collage photos of award show and awards in the dirt with the title "The Inevitability of Falling Stars"
OutSmart magazine cover with Ste7en Foster in bed with characters from the anime, "Orphen".

OutSmart Magazine was doing a story on my anime work. I suggested something other than the usual cover headshot, mainly by having the actors stand in for their characters. Except Dortin at the top. For size reasons, we used my 5-year-old daughter. And the blue wolf cub. The woman who did the voice for that was not puppy size. Left to right are David Matranga, Karen Coffer, and Ty Mayberry. This photo has obviously been retouched.

Since OutSmart put Orphen characters on the cover with me, the sharp marketing department seized the opportunity and asked me to come up with a full-page ad for the show.

Out magazine Hot List 100 2006 cover

Every year, Out Magazine makes a Hot 100 List and in 2006, I made the list! And wouldn’t you know it, they spelled my name wrong in the mag—and that’s before it had a 7 in it. Here’s a short story about the whole shebang.

The other images are of a polaroid of my date, Taylor Hannah, and I; and the clear and black plexiglass party invite.

Ste7en Foster on set with actors Serena Varghese, Christine Austen, Hilary Haag, and Jessica Boone, posing for a feature for Anime Insider magazine.

Anime Insider wanted to do a feature on actors who I worked with at ADV Films. And I was always shoving actors to the fore; they’re who the fans really want to see. But  I was known for folding live action into anime like The Super Milk-Chan Show, and onto anime shows such as Colorful, Gilgamesh, Pani-Poni Dash, Steel Angel Kurumi, and Le Chevalier d’Eon.
